Cold weather can be very harmful, especially for people aged 65 or older, people with long term health conditions, carers and pregnant women.
As the weather gets colder, we are encouraging our residents to keep warm and stay well this winter. Here are a few tips:
- Get the flu jab- Flu can also cause serious illnesses– in the worst cases death. The flu vaccine is the best protection we have against the viruses that are common this winter. Visit your GP or local participating pharmacisttoday to get the flu vaccine.
Free flu vaccinations are available in England for those who are more at risk:
- Aged 65 or older
- People with a disability or long term illness
- Carers of older or disabled people
- Pregnant women
- Frontline health and social care workers
- Children aged 2 & 3 (visit your GP
